Message from ACS(I)
It is with great pleasure that we welcome one and all to WCOCD 2017, the joint meeting of the ACS(I) and IACD at the Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru on May 4th to 6th , 2017. We wish to maximise our collective output to make this conference the grandest yet in the annals of our Association as well as the IACD. To this end, I am sure that the organising and scientific committees will leave no stone unturned to ensure a unique conferencing experience in terms of scientific content and practical learning environment. This, being a major international conference of surgical and Aesthetic Dermatology in a while now in this country and with Bangalore hosting it, the conference has galvanised the aesthetic and dermatosurgical fraternity of the entire country to reaching the zenith of scientific creativity so that a unique conference is organised which is logistically convenient as well as culturally enriching for all delegates. The flavour of this great country in general and Bangalore in the Southern State of Karnataka in particular, would be felt in all its fervour during those days, with all facilities available at shouting distance. The scientific committee has already started work on hand-picking the best faculty from India and around the world to ensure that repetitions are avoided and Aesthetic Dermatologists and dermatosurgeons carry home the message of being productive within available facilities and resources wherever they are working.
We are living through a very exciting and ever changing time in the field of Dermatology and in none more than Cosmetic Dermatology and Dermatosurgery is this more palpable. Age-old thinking is being challenged, but the fact remains that it is in amalgamating the old with the new that the best interests of the patients would be served. I am sure that the hard work of the organising committee would crystallise into sessions that would culminate in changing the way a number of conditions are managed cosmetically and surgically as we continue our march in this, the second decade of the 21st century.
Long live ACS(I) and IACD
